Cheers and Good Luck!!!

Must be located in the contiguous 48 States, preferably Michigan. Contest ends November 30, 2015

For those of you that would like a little back story on this amazing IPA, here ya go…

Although 120 Minute IPA is brewed a few times a year, it gets sold out quickly because of its pure deliciousness. Due to its high alcohol content, 15-20% ABV, it stores and ages excellently and just gets better and better. This 120 IBU beer is a hop lover’s dream come true. Per Dogfish.com it is “boiled for a full two hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month and aged for another month on whole-leaf hops.”

Food Pairing Recommendations:  Smoked almonds, smoked meats, grilled lamb, gingersnaps
Glassware Recommendation:  IPA glass
Wine Comparable:  More whisky than wine

Oh…Didn’t I do a blog post about this?

Well guess what?

NOW I’m doing a VIDEO post about this! And let me tell you…it’s oh-so much more entertaining…says me.

Grab a drink, some hot popcorn, a friend and in 1 minute it will be all over.

On the other hand, don’t bother with the refreshments. That’s a waste of time.

Enjoy!!

One Minute Beer Buzz Episode 1

October 29, 2015

So I’m FINALLY doing video. Whoop de do… I figured there are some things I’d rather express physically and audibly, than just put into the written word. I’m sure you will all be thrilled by this. (Said in monotone voice.)

Actually I thought…if those Travel Channel people won’t give me my own show…I WILL!

If any of you have any pressing beer questions or any ole questions for that matter, send them on to me via my Contact Page or the latest IG Post or Facebook. I guess if you don’t like any of those, I can’t help you.

And no…I can’t answer why the Kardashians are still famous.

Cheers!

BTW: Once published, all One Minute Beer Buzz Episodes will be on my Adventures N Ales You Tube Page.

The Siren of Stout is “Live in the D”.

October 15, 2015

Because I have not yet finished choking the life out of my 15 minutes of fame, I am uploading my segment from “Live in the D’ from last week. Yes, I started that sentence with a preposition. Sue me.  Anyway, for your viewing pleasure, I will also add a few pictures on the walk into the studio. I should have taken way more “behind the scenes” pics but since I actually had to dispense information and not just stand in front of the camera, pose and smile, a la Kim Kardashian, I needed to be in the moment. My day started out tightly packing up all of my beer and props into my favorite suitcase and driving down to Detroit. THE TRAFFIC WAS AWUFUL! I mean TERRIBLE.  If I keep using caps will you get the picture? Instead of it being a relaxing 40 minute drive, I sat in bumper to bumper traffic for over 1.5 hours! I started panicking and I thought I was gonna be late for my own segment! I TOTALLY lucked out however and found an alternate route. I would tell you guys what it is but next time there is traffic to Detroit, you will all jump yourselves on my new route. #sorrynotsorry

2015-10-07 09.08.12Finally made it. No thanks to you commuters!

Breathe Easy People! Finally! My Top Ten MI Breweries!

October 2, 2015

As you get to know me, you will soon discover that I LOVE LISTS…And I mean of anything.

“Top Ten Strip Clubs Owned By One-Legged Parakeets”?  I’m there!

“Top Five Ways To Make Your Hand Numb”?  Got it!

So…because, like me, I know you have been waiting for this list with bated breath, (NOT) I’m finally going to list my favorite breweries in Michigan. This list is tried and true.  Most of these places I have honestly spent an entire day “sitting at the bar and sampling their libations”.  That sounds much better than saying, “pounding their beers and laying on the floor.”  My addendum is…This list is fluid. There are some solid winners here that will always stay on the list, but then, there are others that make me roll my eyes because of inane things like, terrible service, snooty, unfriendly patrons or uneducated bartenders. Minus all of that, all of their beers…all of them…are solid.  I may do this list again in two months and at least four will change.  Anywho, for brevity, I’m only going to pick one beer that I like from each place, so you know what to look for if you should ever pop in.

Let’s get it started. Let’s get it started in here! (Yes. I sang that last sentence in my head.)
