20 U.S. Breweries You Should At Least Visit Once

January 28, 2016

Where have I been the past couple of weeks??? WORKING!  This blog does not pay my bills…or even cover a stick of gum.  So, I had to head on down to the North American International Autoshow for a week and THEN work the stroll on “The Great White Way” aka New York for another week.  More importantly, I had to go out and MAKE SOME MONEY! Pimpin’ aint easy.

What I was NOT doing was hitting these amazing breweries listed. I have, however; been to and thoroughly enjoyed 4 on the list…Russian River, Cigar City, New Belgium and Tired Hands.  New Belgium was my favorite. The facility is massive and super cool.  The people are fun, laid back and super cool. And the beer is delicious and…you know…super cool.

This picture is actually from Oskar Blues Brewery but they are only about 50 minutes away so I visited both. If you are in the area DO IT!

OK. Enough about me. Lets get to the list. Let me know which ones you have gone to and your thoughts on the brewery AND their beer. I’d love to hear your likes and dislikes. Click on the frame below to get to the good stuff…

Halloween 2015 – Go Hard or Go Home!

November 4, 2015

I think you guys know I love to re-live stuff…also known as beating a dead horse. SO…let’s re-live Halloween 2015 in all of its grand detail! Sorta.

I FINALLY have a glass/screen door. Why is this important to Halloween? Not only can it can seal out the cold and rain, but you can also see the little kiddies running up your front steps!  That I’m excited about this, tells you exactly what type of life I lead nowadays.

Every Halloween, for years, I had been at a party or bar or some “thing” doing something and this Halloween I was excited to just be at home. I made hot cider and homemade brownies with dark chocolate frosting (my first time making frosting by the way), turned on the apple pie candle heater thingy and arranged the Halloween candy in a large Tupperware dish to look oh-so appetizing.

The ‘Fernweh’ In My Life, Finds Peace

October 22, 2015

“Wanderlust” is a strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world.
“Fernweh” is literally, “farsickness”; “an ache for the distance”.

Once I saw these words a few years ago, everything finally made sense to me. I have spent my entire life loving and longing to travel; to get out of town and go somewhere..anywhere. It doesn’t matter where. But sometimes it is not “practical” or “sane”.  Why? You travel for a REASON and a reason only…vacation or work.  Any other reason is a waste of time. That is what I felt was put upon me by society, especially being a married woman.  I love to be “in the streets” as my mother says.  A ‘Traveling Willberry’, my husband says. I’m not even sure what that really means, I just know it’s the name of Tom Petty’s old band and he thinks it sounds like me.

I’ve heard from more than enough people “why do you like to travel”, “home is best”, “you are gone all of the time”, “you can never have a stable home traveling”, “your man will find someone else if you’re not at home”, “you know you can’t have kids and do that”, “there are temptations on the road”, “you have to stop all of that mess to have kids”, “you’re too old for all this”. I could go on and on with the “unsolicited opinions”.  The comments and mainstream society in general had gotten in my head to where I would kinda feel bad when I didn’t have work or vacation scheduled but I needed to GET OUT!

No. I’m not lying.

Why would I lie to you?

O White Castle, White Castle, Wherefore Art Thou White Castle?

September 11, 2015

You will never believe what I just heard! It is like a miracle. Like water to wine. Like, walking on water. Like, many loaves of bread! I have been waiting for this for years and years and now it is here.

White Castle Will Start Serving Breakfast All Day This September!

You’re not as thrilled as I am about this momentous news?

You must not understand the gloriousness that is White Castle. Oh, I’m not talking about those dry diarrhea inducing hamburgers or the soul sucking chicken rings.  I’m talkin’ about breakfast.  The juicy sausage, delectable whole egg and creamy cheddar cheese slider and the Belgian waffles. Ohhhhh…the waffles with chicken, bacon and gravy.

As you can clearly see I am either in love or delusional. But it is clinically proven they are one in the same.

Thank you White Castle!

Rope Curtain Tiebacks and Rods

For a total change of pace, I’m posting a DYI project.  This may seem totally unlike me but actually, I am a handyman at heart and have done quite a few fun home improvement projects before starting this blog. Now I’m gonna share ’em wit yous! (Pittsburgh speak/plural for more than one).  I should have taken more pics, but I was unsure this DIY would turn out as perfect as it did!
